Welcome to Jacob's Ladder
Our work focuses on uplifting our community by empowering youth to make positive life choices that impacts the greater good. At the core of our work, our mission is to reduce the number of juveniles entering and returning to the juvenile justice system. We get there a variety of ways, all of which focus on elevating our community one generation at a time.
More than ever, our mission to educate and reduce the number of juveniles entering and returning to the juvenile justice system is a vital area of focus throughout our service areas. Our programs support our mission by reducing crime, poverty, and chronic underemployment. In addition, our programs promote academic attainment, character building, life skills development, and workforce training to motivate self-sufficiency and productive futures.
We provide youth with daily educational support throughout the year. Our enrichment programs include tutoring, SAT Prep, basic literacy skills attainment, confidence building, and mentoring. In addition, we engage youth with one-on-one support and provide small group instruction.
Providing youth an opportunity to restore themselves to a successful path is the origin story of Jacob's Ladder. We serve juveniles pending release from detention centers or recently returning home. Our goal is to support youth with successful rehabilitation, help them develop a plan for their future, and to end destructive behaviors.
The Jacob's Ladder Youth Diversion Program provides juveniles and their families with effective strategies to end destructive behavior patterns before criminal involvement and arrests occur. Aligned with our mission, the Diversion program proactively mitigates adverse outcomes within our local youth population.
Through our Junior Workforce Academy, Jacob's Ladder is determined to develop the next generation of career-ready, financially responsible citizens. We also expand on this work through our Trade Career Academy which prepares youth to be competitive in the work environment by acquiring relevant workforce skills.
